So, you want to be a published writer? (5 free resources)

Hi everyone! How’s it going?

We have some great resources and awesome news!

Crazy Writer - Home | Facebook

It’s not as hard to get published as it used to be!

The downside to this is; A published writer is different than a professional writer.

Don’t fret – you can achieve both with dedication

Keep in mind – You really have to WANT to be a writer to go pro because it is hard work. It is a crazy field

Most writers live surrounded by piles of crumpled papers and a crushing feeling of defeat. There are only a rare few who don’t have a day job to make ends meet.

If this doesn’t dissuade you – you’re on the right path to being the writer you were meant to be!

This post will be the first of many steps to developing the writer in you. Here you’ll learn all about publishing opportunities.

Our top pick for easy publication is HubPages https://hubpages.com/

We chose this because it is fairly recognized across the writing community. It’s a good place to build your writing portfolio and hone your skills. It gets your name in print without a huge hassle. They have a huge community, so you can make friends. Hubpages teaches people about analytics and decent writing but it also allows everyone to publish.

Finally, you can earn money writing. Our editor-in-chief Dreen has been a contributor but made $200 over 10 years. You won’t get rich, but you can get noticed if you’re dedicated

Keep in mind; you’ll need to be dedicated to develop a following. This is true no matter where you go but hubpages has a higher visit rate than most

The next easiest publication platform is Blogger https://www.blogger.com/

It’s pretty identical but blogger makes it so much easier to publish your content. It doesn’t have analytic requirements to post. This means you’ll need to do the added double-checking to ensure your work is error-free.

They lack in community and pay – there’s no guarantee you’ll make anything except publication. You might not make more than pennies but if you’re good enough – you can make a name for yourself.

It doesn’t really teach anything, and it is very basic – so it’ll be great for people just starting out or for practice. Blogger just offers a free-range platform and allows you to publish indiscriminately.

Our third pick is Medium – https://medium.com/

People all over will tell you how good this platform is. It is a great business platform for readers and writers.

It is also a high probability of spam and/or advertisements to pay to read other’s work. This platform would not be best for a complete novice. You need to have writing and tech knowledge.

Number four is a tie

We couldn’t decide between the two They are similar in so many ways we thought we’d let you be the judge.

Vocal Media https://vocal.media/

Or, Publish0x https://www.publish0x.com/

Vocal offers more high-tech appeal and has a slightly bigger audience

Publish0x is unique in their pay; they appear to pay more than the average – but – payments are in cryptocurrency. You’ll need to set up the avenues to receive crypto-cash

Finally, we have NEWSBREAKhttps://www.newsbreak.com/

This platform is much like Medium in it is run like a business of writers and readers but the process is like a newspaper. It goes last on the list because it is higher difficulty than the previous platforms. You have to apply first and fill out information similar to getting a job.

For first-time writers, this may be a big leap BUT it is a really great step! This kind of publication leads to bigger exposure and bigger writing gigs

Here is Where you can Apply to become a writer

So now you’ve seen some tools to start, stay tuned for the next level writing gigs
